Checking the warranty before you buy, especially a used phone, tells you whether it is genuine, when it was activated and how much cover is left. Here is how to do it for the most popular brands in Pakistan.
First, Get the IMEI
Dial *#06# or open Settings > About phone. Note the first IMEI. It should match the one printed on the box.
Tecno, Infinix and itel: Check on Carlcare
Tecno, Infinix and itel belong to the same group and share one official after-sales service, Carlcare.
- Open the Carlcare website or install the Carlcare app.
- Choose the warranty check option and select Pakistan if asked.
- Enter the IMEI number. You will see the model and the warranty status or end date.
Carlcare service centres in major cities handle repairs and warranty claims for all three brands.
Oppo: Check on OPPO’s Support Website
- Open OPPO Pakistan’s official support website and go to the warranty check section.
- Enter the IMEI or serial number.
- The result shows the model and warranty period.
What the Warranty Usually Covers
- Covered: manufacturing faults in the phone, such as a board fault or a battery that stops holding charge under normal use.
- Not covered: broken screens, liquid damage, and phones opened or repaired at non-authorised shops.
- Accessories: chargers and cables often have a shorter warranty than the phone. Check your warranty card.
Before You Buy a Used Phone
- Check the warranty and that the activation date matches what the seller says.
- Confirm the phone is PTA approved; see how to check PTA approval by IMEI.
- Check the battery condition with our battery health guide.
